About the Seminar

About the Seminar

 About the Seminar

Indic thought and wisdom have now been discussed in various forums and conferences. Today, it is exciting to note that Indic thought and wisdom have been beginning to catch attention over the last decade, with the world increasingly realizing the flaws and limitations of the current individual and societal development model. Therefore, it is high time we should do something from our side. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has also paid enough attention and has given a much-needed thrust not only for the inclusion of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) in the national curriculum and pedagogy but also for promoting authentic research and innovation in the IKS to identify/address the challenges and concerns of the 21st century.

The world faces various challenges for sustainable development that can no longer be ignored. Our responsibility is to move toward building communities where sustainability, inclusivity, and values are the buzzwords, and with great enthusiasm and positive initiatives to be taken to explore and understand the IKS.

Indian Knowledge Systems have a strong foundation in Indian culture, philosophy, and spirituality and have evolved through thousands of years. On the other hand, sustainability is emerging as a key theme in almost all research fields in the contemporary era. The proposed International Conference focuses on tracks across all these fields related to Indian Knowledge Systems. This Conference will provide a platform for researchers, academicians, and institutions to present and discuss varied opinions and research works in the domain of IKS to achieve sustainable development goals and their relevance in modern times.

The proposed two-day International seminar on "The Role of Libraries in Unveiling the Indian Knowledge Systems in Digital Era" during 21-22 February 2025 aims to offer an opportunity to exchange new advancements in the area of listed themes and sub-themes for further progress and opens a new way to proceed with the bilateral and multilateral interdisciplinary research in areas of mutual interests for achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Moreover, this international seminar's input may help to identify the role of Libraries and Information Centres towards IKS in the current Digital Era. Library professionals, academicians, and policy makers may have insights to customize how to progress.
